Quick Toddler Breakfast Ideas

Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for some easy and quick toddler or kid breakfast ideas?

These easy and quick toddler breakfast ideas are even great for you – just adjust the serving size of course.  All of these meals are easy and packed with nutrition.  They are also very realistic and anyone can make them!

All of my meal ideas I blog about are perfect for kids, and not just toddlers.  My ten-year-old eats these meals, too!

I make my toddler breakfast ideas with foods that are easy to chew, on the soft side, and that add a variety of nutrients.  Some days we just eat plain cereal or toast with nut butter – that is very simple and good for when you are in a big hurry or very tired (happens to me a couple of days a week – at least).

But when you feel like making something a little extra fun or changing things up a bit, you could try some of these easy and quick toddler breakfast ideas!

Here’s what my twins ate this week:Toddler Breakfast

  • Smoothie Bowl with a small handful of frozen strawberries, one frozen banana, small handfull spinach, a cube of frozen bone broth, 1/4 teaspoon ground flax seeds, a small scoop of plain whole milk yogurt and a small amount of water.
  • Topped with fresh strawberries, unsweetened coconut flakes, and sliced almonds.  Make sure almonds are very thin and small and your toddler is chewing solids well.
  • I use frozen fruit for smoothie bowls and add less liquid to get them a little bit thicker.

Breakfast Ideas for Kids

  • 1/2 Avocado sliced
  • Whole Grain Toast with Organic Valencia Peanut Butter (could sub peanut butter for almond butter, sunflower butter, or a different kind if your child has a peanut allergy)
  • 1/2 Sliced Hard-Boiled Egg

  • 1/2 Sliced Avocado
  • Strawberries Sliced
  • Peanut Butter Oat Balls
    • These are made with organic oats, organic peanut butter, and raw honey.  I
    • Since peanut butter can get sticky in your mouth you may want to give these to an older toddler.  My twins started eating these around 27-months.

Toddler breakfast recipes

  • Scrambled Eggs with Spinach and Cheddar Cheese – This toddler breakfast idea requires the stove turned on, but it only took me about 10 minutes to make.
  • Smoothie with Frozen Strawberries – This smoothie recipe is 1/2 banana, small handful spinach, a pinch of ground flax seeds, and 1/2 teaspoon sunflower butter, and a little water.
  • I use this blender for all my smoothies and smoothie bowls.  It’s fast and easy to clean-up and pulverizes food well.

Yogurt Bowl

  • Yogurt Bowl with Vanilla Whole Milk Yogurt (Plain would work well, too), almond butter, granola, wild blueberries, and sprinkled with ground flax seeds.
  • My toddler twins devoured this breakfast idea up!
  • Make sure your child is over 1-year-old if giving granola since most contain honey (or make sure it doesn’t contain honey in it).  Also, make sure it’s not clumped together so it doesn’t pose a choking hazard.
  • I heated the almond butter up first and poured it on the yogurt so it wasn’t thick.  Add a very thin layer so it’s easy for your toddler to eat.

I hope this has given you some inspiration for breakfast ideas!

Breakfast can be yummy, fun, and easy – all while being realistic at the same time.  I did not spend more than 15 minutes total making any of these easy toddler breakfast ideas.  And all three of my boys at these.

Use what you have and sub any of the fruits, nut butters, and yogurt for the kind you have and that your toddler will eat.  I always keep a stash of frozen fruit in the freezer for smoothies and smoothie bowls.  I even used frozen wild blueberries in the yogurt bowl and just thawed them for 10 seconds in the microwave.

Always remember to supervise your child with all meals from Twin Mom Refreshed, and cut food up small!  Your toddler should be chewing solids well before eating any of these breakfast ideas.  Also, remember to not give honey to your baby if they are under one-year-old (since some of these breakfast ideas have honey in them).
