Toddler Meal Ideas for Lunch

Sharing is caring!

Do you need some toddler meal ideas for lunch?  I always am in need of food ideas for my 2-year-old twin toddlers.

All of these Toddler Meal Ideas for Lunch are simple, easy, and fast to make.

Sometimes I like to plan out what they will eat for lunch (and all other meals) when I’m grocery shopping.  And sometimes I just like to use up what we have at home.

I like to offer a lot of different types of foods for my twins.  This way they are open to trying more foods and getting more nutrition with a variety of foods.

Hopefully, these lunch ideas will give you some inspiration and ideas for your child.

You can mix and match these ideas.  These are just the foods I had on hand.  We had a lot of peas this week.  Some were frozen (I steamed them) and some were canned.

I used the peas for multiple days because we had leftovers.  It’s a great way to not waste food and will allow them to get used to the taste by eating it multiple times. Here I share how I get my twins to eat their vegetables and like them, too!

Ways to Speed up Making Lunch

For my steamed veggies, I used frozen pre-chopped for added convenience.  It makes it so much easier when I need to cook something quick and healthy for them.  Plus I just keep all different kinds in my freezer.  I have frozen butternut squash, pumpkin, sweet potato, corn, broccoli, and green beans usually always on hand since I buy those frozen.  We buy fresh too, but not as often.

All of these meals were quick to make.  I used leftovers for a couple of them (the pasta dish and pizza).  Using leftovers is so easy and fast for lunches but I don’t always have leftovers!

Of course, always supervise your child during meals.  Slice up foods small and cook them so they are soft.  And make sure they are eating solids well before having your toddler try any of these meals.
