Broccoli Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

Here’s a healthy and easy broccoli smoothie that’s toddler and kid-friendly.

This broccoli smoothie tastes so good, and everyone in my family enjoys it.

Have you ever put broccoli into your smoothie?  It does sound strange putting broccoli in a smoothie I’ll admit, but this is good and raw broccoli has phytonutrients that are good for the immune system.

I’m trying to incorporate more raw fresh veggies into my kids’ diet, and smoothies are a quick and easy way to do that.

I do serve vegetables in the whole form often to my kids, but smoothies are an easy way to get extra nutrition and they are such an easy snack or breakfast!

Ingredients for the Broccoli Smoothie:

  • 1 cup mango – I used frozen but fresh will work.  Frozen is just quicker for smoothies since it’s already chopped.
  • 1-2 broccoli florets – I used fresh raw broccoli, but frozen would work.  I steamed my broccoli for smoothies when my toddlers were younger (around 1 year old) for easier digestion.
  • 1 heaping scoop of vanilla whole milk yogurt (plain will work too).  My kids love the Stoneyfield brand whole milk yogurt.
  • 1 teaspoon ground flax seeds – flax seeds contain omega-3 fatty acids and also contain vitamins and minerals.
  • 1/2 cup filtered water – more or less depending on the consistency you want.

Blend and enjoy!  I used the magic bullet (affiliate link) for this smoothie. Freeze into popsicles if you have any leftover or make a double batch!

Smoothie Recipes

I buy a large bag of mango chunks and just keep it in the freezer.

This whole bag was $10 for organic mango and it’s made a lot of smoothies!

This smoothie does not taste like broccoli (and that was my goal with this).  Add more broccoli if you don’t mind the taste.  I wanted my kids to drink this and wasn’t sure they would if I added too much broccoli.

All my kids and I devoured this smoothie!  This recipe is a keeper and I hope you enjoy it, too!

Lately, I’ve been making smoothies for breakfast for my kids and husband since our mornings have been busy.  I like to throw in some green vegetables whether it’s spinach, kale, Romain lettuce, bok choy, or broccoli.  Use what you have in your fridge or freezer!

Between figuring out Google classroom for my school-aged son, Zoom meetings, and toddler twins, smoothies are just an easy and healthy thing to drink- and gives us tons of nutrients our bodies need.

This smoothie is a great snack for those google meets – for kids and adults!

Homemade muffins are another easy and healthy food we eat on busy mornings (pre-made the previous day).  These avocado muffins are a favorite recipe of ours!
