Spinach Banana Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

Looking for an easy spinach banana smoothie with peanut butter?  This smoothie is good for toddlers, kids, and adults!

I’ve been making this smoothie recipe for over 5 years.  It’s so simple, yet so good!

When I want something on the sweeter side that’s healthy, I make spinach banana smoothie.

I decided to start making it for my 2-year-old twin toddlers since I like it so much, and it was a big hit with them!

Spinach Banana Smoothie

This peanut butter spinach banana smoothie has good fat in it so it’s filling and satisfying.

It’s also packed with spinach, yet tastes nothing like spinach!

This recipe is also adaptable.  Use what you have!  You can sub the peanut butter for another nut butter or sunflower butter.

The milk can be subbed with any kind of milk or water.  You could also use kale instead of spinach.  It will taste a little different but I always try to use up what I have for smoothies.

Ingredients for the Spinach Banana Smoothie:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I use one similar to this) or other liquid
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter (I like to use Valencia Peanut butter)
  • 1/2 cup spinach (I used fresh but frozen would also work)
  • 1 frozen banana

Optional add-ins for extra nutrition (1/4 teaspoon):

  • Hemp hearts (healthy fats and protein)
  • Chia seeds (omega 3s and fiber)
  • Ground flax seeds (omega 3s and antioxidants)

Instructions:

  • Add all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth.  This will make one small smoothie.  You could make a double the batch if you want a larger smoothie or for multiple kids.
  • If you use a fresh banana instead of frozen, add in a few ice cubes before blending.
