Pumpkin Patch Sensory Table

Sharing is caring!

Does your toddler or preschooler love the pumpkin patch?  My 2-year-old twin toddlers can’t stop talking about the pumpkin patch!

I think we went to the pumpkin patch at least seven times last year.  My toddlers love tractors, animals, and pumpkins!  Does your toddler have an interest in those, too?  So we had to have a pumpkin patch sensory table!

My twins have been talking about the pumpkin patch since the end of August (since fall stuff has been in the stores).

They keep asking to go to the pumpkin patch, but none of them are open yet since it’s too early in the season.  That’s why I decided to make our own little pretend play pumpkin patch sensory table.  Although it’s not quite the same as the pumpkin patch, it still is a ton of fun!  It’s getting them even more excited to go to the pumpkin patch.

If your child loves the pumpkin patch as mine do, or if you are planning to go soon, then this is something they might enjoy.

What You Will Need For The Pumpkin Patch Sensory Table:

  • Water Table (or just a clear storage tub, or just use the dirt outside!)
  • Toy Farm Animals (cows, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, etc.)
  • Toy Barn
  • Tractors and Trailers
  • Little Toy People
  • Painted Rocks that look like pumpkins
  • Dirt

Pumpkin Patch Sensory Table

All of the items aren’t necessary for the pumpkin patch sensory table, just use what you have!  We found things we already had around the house.

I painted small round rocks I found in our yard.  I used a washable orange paint so it washed off when it rained.  Acrylic paint would probably work better for painting rocks, but use what you have!

Ideas To Talk About With Your Child As They Are Playing:

  • What animals live on a farm?
  • What do the animals need to be happy? (food, water, barn, being cared for and loved, etc.)
  • Count the pumpkins
  • What do pumpkins need in order to grow? (sun, water, soil)
  • What season do pumpkins grow in?

Pumpkin Sensory Bin

My twin toddlers loved this easy sensory table idea!  We now have an area in our backyard with the tractors, animals, and pumpkins.  They play with this all the time!

I hope your child enjoys this fun and simple pumpkin sensory table like mine did!

Are you going to try this Pumpkin Patch Sensory Table with your child?  I would love to know how it goes!
