A glitter sensory bottle is so simple to make and they are so much fun for toddlers and kids!
Sensory bottles take minutes to put together and are something kids can even help make.
These sensory bottles are also sometimes called calm down bottles, which they are very calming to watch! I even find myself shaking these sensory bottles around and watching the glitter fall!
My toddlers helped make our glitter sensory bottle and two other kinds as well!
This glitter sensory bottle is so mesmerizing to look at!

I got all of my supplies for the sensory bottles (except the Voss water bottle) from the dollar store.
We also made two other sensory bottles when we made our glitter sensory bottles.
I made an oil and water sensory bottle and an alphabet and rice sensory bottle.
To make the oil and water sensory bottle just fill up the water bottle halfway with water and add a few drops of food coloring. Fill up the rest of the way with cooking oil, leaving a little bit of room at the top.
The oil and water sensory bottle is a great way to introduce a little bit of science to your kids. Talk about how oil and water don’t mix, therefore they will always separate even when shaken together. You can get into more detail for older kids.
To make the rice alphabet sensory bottle, I added alphabet letters to the empty water bottle.
I found these letters at the dollar store in the craft section. Then I filled up the Voss water bottle 3/4 of the way with rice. I made it since my toddler twins are working on letter recognition – although they would much rather play with the glitter sensory bottles!
I keep my sensory bottles out on a low shelf in the living room for my toddlers. That way they can play with them when they want.
Just check the seal every now and again to make sure they aren’t leaking, and always supervise while they are using these!
