Cloud dough sensory play is so much fun and so easy!
My 2-year-olds were kept entertained and learning with this super simple sensory bin.
I added trucks to this sensory bin because they love trucks, but add in things your toddler likes.
My 2-year-old toddlers pretended the cloud dough was snow.
They had to plow through the “snow” with their trucks and tractors.
I also added in some cups and people for added fun.
You could add in measuring spoons, cups, bowls, etc. and make a baking or cooking theme!
There’s so much your child will be learning from this sensory play activity no matter what they use to play, even if it’s just their hands!
Stir it all together in a bowl or tub and let your toddler have fun. If you have a lid you can put it on and save it for later.
You can heat the flour up in the microwave for a few minutes (needs to reach 165 degrees F) if you think your toddler will taste it since raw flour could possibly contain bacteria.
Or mix in some large zip lock bags. It will probably mix better this way I was just trying to make this as quickly as I could with less mess.
I added in trucks because that’s what my toddlers enjoy but add in whatever your toddler likes or whatever is laying around the house that’s toddler safe.
I would add things that can wash easily.
Examples of things to add in the cloud dough: dishes such as cups, spoons, muffin tins, whisks, play food, shovels, buckets, blocks, toy animals and people.
I used one under bed storage container and put a smaller tub inside of it. It was easier to scoop up the cloud dough this way for my toddlers.
I left the bin out for a bit and they would come back to play.
The first time I brought this out they played for over an hour together. And they got along so well while playing with this!

I was able to get so much accomplished while my twins played with this cloud dough.
Things got a little messy towards the end. I put a towel underneath because a lot of cloud dough ended up spilling out.
It sweeps up pretty easy though and since it was played with for over an hour, the mess was well worth it!
Since there’s oil in it I would recommend sweeping instead of vacuuming. A bunch got stuck in my vacuum container and I had to wash it with water – but it did rinse out fine.
I will probably take this outside when it’s nice out just so I have no cleanup!
