Peppermint Playdough

Sharing is caring!

Peppermint playdough smells so amazing and is so easy to make at home!

This peppermint playdough recipe is quick to make and the scent will remind you of candy canes.

The kids love to play with this peppermint playdough in the wintertime and around Christmas and pretend it’s snow, but it’s really good to make any time of the year!

Even though you cook this play dough, it is so fast to make!  My kids and I can make this playdough in under 10 minutes.

Here’s a simple three-ingredient recipe for no-cook playdough, which you could easily add the peppermint into to make no-cook peppermint scented playdough.

This peppermint playdough recipe is so smooth and silky.

Even I love to squish it in my hands and smell the peppermint.  It’s very invigorating and reminds me of aromotherapy!

Instructions:

1. Add all of the ingredients into a medium saucepan.  Mix well.  (a good step for kids or toddlers to help with)

2. Cook on medium-low heat. Stir it continually until a ball starts to form and gets thick.

3. Once a ball is formed, take it off the heat and put it on wax or parchment paper to cool a bit.

4. When cool enough to touch, knead the dough into a ball.

5.  Add glitter (optional).  The glitter can make the playdough look shimmery like snow.

6. Store in an airtight container.

This playdough recipe is so easy and inexpensive to make!

It’s a sensory-rich activity that’s perfect for toddlers and kids!  Playdough is good for creativity, fine motor skills, sensory play, and more!  It’s really a wonderful open-ended play idea for kids.

Peppermint playdough lasts for a long time if you keep it in an airtight container or ziplock bag with all the air removed.  Ours usually ends up on the floor after a couple of weeks with dog hair and Cheerios in it – then I toss it and make a new batch of playdough when we’re ready.
