Sensory Bin Toddler Activity

This sensory bin is perfect for siblings or just one child.

Siblings or multiple children can work together and take turns using utensils.

I try not to add too many utensils and other objects to my sensory bins so my toddlers are not overwhelmed with choices.  It also helps to promote taking turns.

Supplies For The Ice Sensory Bin:

  • A small and large shallow storage tub.
  • I placed a small tub in a larger one so they could scoop the ice and water easier.  This also allows most of the mess to end up in the larger tub.
  • Plastic bowls and cups.
  • Ladles, large spoons, measuring cups, tongs, etc.

How To Set Up the Ice Sensory Bin:

  • Add ice and water into a small tub.
  • Put in 5-10 drops food coloring (optional).
  • Add towel underneath if doing indoors.
  • Add bowls, cups, spoons, etc.
