How To Make this Valentine’s breakfast for toddlers and kids:

Pancake Recipe – or you can use a box mix:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar (or granulated)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (I use pink Himalayan)

Instructions:

  • Mix wet ingredients first – milk, butter and egg.  Add in dry ingredients and mix.  It’s okay if there are some clumps.
  • Heat a frying pan on low-medium heat.
  • Put mixed batter in a ziplock bag and cut a small hole in the corner.
  • Make a heart shape.  I outline it first then filled in the center.  I added strawberries but this is optional.
  • Fry pancakes for 2-3 minutes on each side.  When it starts to bubble I flip it.

I also made my toddlers a pink veggie popsicle to eat with this breakfast.

Recipe for the Pink Popsicle:

  • 1/2 cup frozen (or fresh) strawberries
  • 1 small banana
  • 3 -4 steamed cauliflower florets (I used steamed florets so they would be easier to digest).
  • 1/2 cup milk or water.  You could use any variety of milk but I used dairy milk.
  • Blend until smooth and pour into popsicle trays – or drink as a smoothie

I like to serve my pancakes with a little butter and pure maple syrup.

I also served this with strawberries cut into heart shapes.
