Waffle Sandwich Toddler Food Ideas

Sharing is caring!

Does your child like waffles?  These waffle sandwich toddler food ideas are so easy to make – and a fun way to eat waffles!

These waffle sandwiches are perfect for lunches, dinner, breakfast, or a snack.

I was inspired to make waffle sandwiches for my kids after we had some fancy ones from a cart at an event we went to.  They all looked delicious and my kids really wanted one.   All three of my boys at every last bite of the waffle sandwiches.  So I knew I had to make some waffle sandwiches for my toddlers and 10-year-old.

My kids all loved these waffle sandwich ideas!  Some we ate for breakfast and some for lunches, and you can even have these for dinner (the savory waffle sandwiches are good for dinners!).

These waffle sandwiches were also quick and easy to make.  I kept it simple with familiar ingredients – and they were a big hit!  We will definitely be making these waffle sandwiches a lot in the future- because my kids just love waffles and this is an easy way to get some added nutrition!

Dinner For Picky Toddlers

  • Egg, turkey, and cheese with a buttered waffle
  • I fried an egg and put on a slice of cheddar cheese and deli turkey meat- melt it all on the fryer (this is a favorite for my toddlers)

Toddler Food Ideas

  • Whip cream and  fresh strawberries and blackberries
  • Toast the waffle and put on a layer of whip cream
  • Add in sliced fresh strawberries and blackberries or other berries

Toddler Meals Dinner

  • Pulled pork waffle sandwich served with cucumbers
  • I cooked a pot roast in the crockpot and just put a bottled bbq sauce on it.  I also put mashed carrots in it for added nutrition.
  • Drizzle with maple syrup for added sweetness (optional)Toddler Snacks and Meals
  • Almond butter and homemade jam
  • Sub almond butter for sunflower butter, peanut butter, or another nut butter if you don’t have almond butter

Chicken and Waffles

  • Chicken and Waffles served with cucumbers
  • I used a rotisserie chicken just shredded up for this.  I added a little pure maple syrup. I only add a little syrup since it is pretty high sugar even though it’s natural sugar.
  • You could also use chicken nuggets for a quick way to make these.  These aren’t traditional chicken and waffles but my toddlers loved this version!

I used whole grain waffles for these, but any frozen waffles will work for these!  Even homemade waffles would be good!

I try to use what I have on hand that my kids like to make my toddler meals.

Waffle sandwiches are much easier for my toddlers to eat than a waffle with toppings.  Just smash it together tightly so they can hold it easily.

The fillings are endless for these waffle sandwiches!  Use what your toddler likes and be creative!
