Here are fun and low-prep Christmas crafts for toddlers or preschoolers.

These Christmas crafts for toddlers are easy to set up and so fun for kids to make!

My twin toddlers were 2 and 3 years old when they made these crafts, but my 5-year-old niece also enjoyed making these crafts as well. 

You can adapt these Christmas crafts for any age group!

DIY Pinecone Ornament

DIY Pinecone Ornaments

  • Have your toddler paint a pinecone and add glitter
  • You can also add a string to this to make it into an ornament
  • A fun Christmas Craft to give to parents or relatives

Sponge Christmas Tree

Sponge Christmas Tree

  • Cut a sponge into a triangle
  • Have your toddler dip the sponge into green paint and stamp on paper

Raised Salt Painting Snowflakes

  • Draw a snowflake on a piece of construction paper or cardboard.
  • Cover with white glue
  • Have your toddler sprinkle salt on the glue
  • Dry completely then drip water colors with a paintbrush onto the dried salt/glue

  • Have them add glitter and stickers.

  • Cut out cardboard in the shape of a house.
  • Use glitter glue, sticker sequins, pom poms, etc. for decoration for the gingerbread house.
  • We used glue sprinkled with salt for the snow (like the snowflake craft up above).

Make homemade ornaments with cardboard

  • Cut out a circle with cardboard
  • Precut washi tape, or use glitter glue, sequins, etc. for your toddler to decorate!
  • Cut a small hole and attach a string.

  • Mix equal parts white glue and shaving cream for the puffy paint snowman
  • Have your toddler fluff the paint on with a paintbrush (I outlined a snowman for my toddlers to paint in)
  • Add buttons, eyes, a nose, mouth, and a scarf with construction paper.
