Do you need quick and healthy toddler breakfast meal ideas?

I usually don’t have a lot of time or energy in the morning to cook breakfast every day.  My two-year-old twins demand a lot of my attention – especially in the mornings.  If I don’t get them breakfast fast, they will just want to drink milk all morning.

Sometimes I get them involved with making breakfast, but it’s usually a challenge at this stage.  So, in the meantime, I make quick and healthy breakfasts for them.  In this post, I shared my go-to-list for breakfast ideas, but these are the meals we ate this week.  The twins loved them, especially the fun smoothie bowl and cereal with fruit.

Here are the easy toddler meals my twins ate this week:

  • Smoothie bowl (1/2 banana, small handful marionberries, small handful raspberries, 1/2 avocado, a small scoop of yogurt, and water).  We freeze any leftovers in this popsicle tray.  Just blend up all ingredients and pour into a bowl!  I use this blender for all my smoothies – it’s easy cleanup and extracts all the nutrients from the fruit and veggies.
  • Organic Whole Wheat Blueberry Waffle with Sunflower Butter

  • Cheese and Spinach Omelet (I made a big batch of these and we just ate them for leftovers)
  • Bagel with Plain Cream Cheese
  • Sliced up Cherries

  • Raspberries, Marionberries, and Blueberries
  • Organic Whole Grain Toasted O’s (no added sugar)
  • Plain Whole Milk Yogurt
  • With this breakfast, they can eat everything separately or mix the fruit and cereal in the yogurt and have a little parfait.  You could sub the cereal with homemade or store-bought granola. Just make sure your child is over one-year if the granola has honey in it (which most do).

  • Hard Boiled Egg

All of the fresh berries and cherries are from when we went berry picking.  The twin’s loved berry picking.

I hope these breakfast ideas will bring you inspiration for your toddler meals!  My toddler’s favourites out of these meals were the bowl of cereal with fruit, the smoothie bowl, and the omelet.

Here are our breakfast ideas we ate last week.  They were also so easy and simple to make.

Just because breakfast can be simple and easy to make, doesn’t mean it isn’t delicious and fun.  My boys loved these ideas, and I hope your child will, too!
