Easy Car Wash – A Fun Toddler Activity

This Car Wash is an easy and fun toddler activity.

My twin toddlers love this activity.  It’s so much fun and so simple to set up – so I’m a big fan of this.  I’m sure your toddler will have a blast doing this car wash activity, too!

This activity is easy, engaging, and cheap (why I love it)!  Plus you can use things you have at home to do this.

If your toddler likes cars, bubbles, and water I’m sure this activity will be a big hit!

My toddlers had so much fun washing the cars.

My twins are really into cars right now but you can use other items. You could do this activity with any items that can easily be washed and dried. Gear it to what your toddler has an interest in.

Supplies Needed:

• Cars (cars you already have at home are perfect for this, or cars from a thrift store or even new cars!)
• Tub for soapy water
• Tub for Clean Water
• Scrubbers and/or washcloths
• Squirt bottle
• Towel or washcloth to dry the cars
• Soap (dish soap or bubble bath)
• Possibly a sun hat and sunscreen

Setting up the car wash:

• Get a tub and fill with water and soap.  I used dish soap, but you could also use their bubble bath to make it extra bubbly.  I used the water from our kitchen sink to fill it with warm water since it wasn’t hot outside (we went outside for this activity).  You could also just use the hose to fill it if it is warmer outside.  Add in some soap to make it bubbly (my toddlers love bubbles).
• Add in all the cars into the bubbly water 
• Get a second tub for clean water without bubbles (to rinse their cars)
• Lay a towel out or have a washcloth ready so they can dry the cars
• Give them dish scrubbers or vegetable scrubbers and/or a washcloth, and a squirt bottle.
• Let them have fun cleaning the cars!

• fine motor skills
• vocabulary (squirt, spray, full, empty)
• life skills (washing and drying)
• Independent play
• Social skills
