More Sandwich Ideas for Toddlers and Kids:

  • Cream cheese and deli meat

  • Nut butter and sliced strawberries

  • Hummus, shredded carrots and cucumbers

  • Peanut butter, banana and honey and cinnamon with flax seeds

  • Avocado, Tomato and deli ham

  • Chicken sandwich – shredded chicken and mayo

  • Mashed banana and jam

  • Roast beef and provolone cheese

  • egg salad with mayo and mashed up avocado

  • Grilled cheese and ham

  • Pulled pork (just shredded pork and bbq sauce mixed)

These are all sandwiches I have tried with my toddlers.  It’s a nice change from the regular peanut butter jelly or deli meat and cheese.  Use up what you have and be creative with your sandwiches!

I usually use 100% whole wheat bread for my sandwiches.  Whole wheat bread contains the bran and germ of the wheat berry – which is the bread’s main source of nutrients.  However, we do use sourdough and sprouted bread often, too.

Sometimes I make a sandwich platter and have the kids make their own sandwiches.  I lay out bread, cheese, meat and lots of toppings such as spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, sliced olives, etc. They usually add on things they might not normally try such as spinach and tomatoes.

I hope this list gave you inspiration for your child’s meals!
