Gifts For 2 Year Old Boys

Sharing is caring!

Looking for gifts for 2 year old boys?

Being a mom of 2 year old twin boys, I want gifts that will last and be played with, and not just thrown in the playroom to be forgotten about (we have too many of those toys already).  If you need gifts for 2 year old boys, or toys for 2 year old boys, read this list – and see if they will work for your 2 year old!

Are you shopping for a birthday, Christmas, another holiday or special occasion for your 2 year old and want a quality toy that will last and be played with more than once?

I’ve compiled a list of the top toys for 2 year olds on Amazon for 2019 that provide open-ended play and toys that will last!  And also added in some ideas that are non-toy ideas and few easy gifts that my two-year-old boys love.

I’ve included a lot of open-ended play toys.  These kinds of toys give a lot more hours of play, in my opinion, because there are several ways to use the toy.  These toys also are also great for enhancing your 2 year olds social, cognitive, emotional, and physical development.

These Gifts for 2 year old boys are top-rated on Amazon Prime (4+ stars and Prime):

Tools are something that allows toddlers to learn many skills.  Tools encourage fine motor skills (great for pre-writing), imaginative play, problem-solving and social skills.

They can use the tools on other things too, like this Pretend Play Motorcycle Garage Toddler Activity

We have several tools and play screws that my boys use frequently.  This one also comes with a truck they can play with and a spot to put the screws in.

This dramatic play ice cream shop is probably my two-year-olds favorite toy right now.  They love pretending to make ice cream and serve it to people.

This toy is great for imaginative play and social skills.  Use the ice cream scoops to practice counting, or use in a play kitchen.

Does your toddler love flashlights?  My twins love playing with flashlights, and they love this one!

Flashlights are very entertaining.  This is a toddler-safe one and they will be learning while using it.

Does your toddler love trucks?  My twins love cement trucks. This is also good for early math skills and fine motor skills.  This toy is made with all-natural wood.

Your toddler can make imprints in play dough with the blocks, stack them, or pretend they are play food (that’s what my twins do with their shapes!).

Blocks are so great for learning many skills such as fine motor skills, planning and reasoning, problem-solving, and imaginative play.

My toddlers love this train set with blocks. We’ve had blocks like this since they were 18 months old.  Or you can just buy a bag of Mega blocks (affiliate link).  We have both and they get played with almost daily.

Duplo blocks are another toy that will last. Our Duplo blocks get played with on a daily or weekly basis.  You can add to these kits.

This toy is great for learning shapes and practicing hand-eye coordination.  There are many ways your child can use the shapes besides on the board it comes with. Your toddler can sort them, stack them, build with them, etc.

Here’s a fun block shape learning activity with play dough that my twins enjoy that they could use these blocks with.

Balance bikes are perfect for 2 year olds.  My boys love their balance bikes and ride them weekly.  They’re great for balance and coordination and something they can master with practice.  Don’t forget a helmet with these.

My 2 year old boys just started learning how to pedal.  They love their pedal bike!  These are great for gross motor skills and this one looks like a motorcycle!

Play kitchens are great for dramatic play.  Have your toddler pretend to cook you breakfast or dinner.  My toddlers love baking play dough “cookies” in their oven.

Remote control cars are a huge hit with my twin toddlers.  These are good for siblings because they have different frequencies so they can be driven at the same time!

Non-Toy Ideas For 2 Year Old Boys

Getting them something to do is also fun and will eliminate getting more toys.

You could get something useful like a train table that also acts as storage.

There are Christmas Shows and Events we like to do during the holidays.   We like to go on a Christmas Cruise Ship or The Polar Express Train Ride and that’s counted towards a gift.  You can easily look up online what’s in your area.  These you might want to save until 2021.

Other gift ideas could be for activities such as gymnastics, dance, soccer, swimming lessons, or other activities (like Disney on Ice – Just remember their attention spans are short at 2 years old – my boys lasted an hour at Disney on Ice).

Of course, these gift ideas could all be for boys and girls.  I’m a mom to three boys, so I have lots of experience with gift-giving for boys!
